Introduction (परिचय)

Symbolic Logic में Argument का मतलब होता है कुछ statements (premises) के आधार पर एक conclusion निकालना।

हम रोज़मर्रा की जिंदगी में भी arguments का उपयोग करते हैं, लेकिन logic में यह check करना जरूरी होता है कि जो conclusion निकाला गया है, वह सही है या नहीं।

इसीलिए हम Validity of Argument को study करते हैं।

Definition (परिभाषा)

Argument एक logical structure है, जिसमें कुछ statements (premises) दिए होते हैं और उनसे एक conclusion निकाला जाता है।

Structure of Argument

Argument दो parts से मिलकर बना होता है:

1. Premises (आधार वाक्य) → जो statements दिए होते हैं
2. Conclusion (निष्कर्ष) → जो result निकाला जाता है

Premise 1: All humans are mortal
Premise 2: Ram is a human

Conclusion: Ram is mortal

Argument valid तब माना जाता है, जब:

एक argument valid होता है यदि premises के true होने पर conclusion भी हमेशा true हो।

Argument को valid या invalid check करने के लिए truth table का उपयोग किया जाता है।

अगर हर उस case में जहाँ premises true हैं, conclusion भी true है → argument valid है

यह Modus Ponens का example है और यह हमेशा valid होता है।
